Retreats at Shellbourne
Conference Center are traditional, silent retreats, conducted
by priests of the Prelature of Opus Dei for either men or women.
The conference center, located on 40 wooded acres in northern
Indiana, includes two chapels, a dining room, living rooms, class
rooms, and 60 individual bedroooms. Walking trails and a separate
shrine dedicated to the Blessed Virgin help those attending the
retreat to maintain a spirit of prayer and recollection.
Each day of the retreat includes Holy Mass, four
or five conferences given by the priest, Exposition and Benediction
of the Blessed Sacrament and recitation of the rosary. The
priest conducting the retreat is available for the Sacrament
of
Reconciliation as well as for personal consultation.
Each participant has a private bedroom for his
or her use. All meals are provided in family style and special
dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
Often two retreats are held simultaneously, one
in the Main House and one in the Lodge. |
